‘Counting On’ News: Jill Duggar Dillard on Attending Therapy, Not Wanting 20 Kids and Adoption

Former Counting On star Jill Dillard recently opened up about several topics, including how attending therapy has been helpful and her independence. While many of her siblings are following the parent’s footsteps, she doesn’t seem to want 20 kids. However, she is open to adopting. Keep reading to find out what the young woman had to say.

Jill Dillard’s Independence and Rebellion

Fans have seen lately that Jill has been going through a bit of a rebellious streak. She is finding her independence and figuring out who she is. Plus, Derick and Jill aren’t seeing eye-to-eye with Jim Bob Duggar. Jill was recently attacked on social media by 20 Kids and Counting fans who brutally reminded her that Jim Bob doesn’t allow his children to drink when she had one sip of a pina colada. She fired back at the naysayers and continues to exercise being an independent woman.

Former Counting On Star Attends Therapy

The reality star left Counting On when Derick was fired from the show. Now, fans are following the couple on YouTube. A recent video had Jill talking about attending therapy and how it has been helpful. At the same time, she also clarified that it doesn’t change who she is as a person and says she’s still a Christian, despite gravitating away from the Duggar rules.

“I think, like, therapy’s been really helpful… but also, we haven’t changed who we are as people. As Christians, we want to have the Bible to be our standard. But I think just growing as people and the whole ‘leave and cleave’ thing, which I know we’ve talked about before, has been helpful… You don’t just want to like not listen to anyone. But the people who are good role models to you, other fellow believers, people that are in your group, you want to listen to them, listen to their cautions, listen to that, get advice — wise advice.”

Not Following in Duggar Parents Footsteps

The former Counting On star was always expected to follow in Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar’s footsteps. Many of her siblings are well on their way to having dozens of babies. However, it seems that Derick and Jill will be happy with what God gives them, but also implied that they don’t plan on having 20 kids.

Derick Dillard and Wife Considering Adoption

The couple already has two children but is open to expanding their family with adoption. They haven’t made up their mind yet and it’s a big responsibility, so they are taking their time before they make a solid decision. Jill said,

“Derick’s mom was adopted, so adoption has always had a special place in our hearts. But again, we’re not going to rule anything out. If God has us run an orphanage or something, then maybe we’d have more than that! I don’t know…But we’ll see. We’re not saying no, never or anything yet.
