TLC’s “90 Day Fiancé-Happily Ever After” stars Angela Deem Ilesanmi and Michael Ilesanmi are married, but still living a world apart. Angela explains why.
90 Day Fiancé Spoilers – Angela Knew Michael Might Not Be Able To Legally Emigrate
Even on her wedding day, Angela knew that Michael may not be able to legally immigrate. He had been denied for the K-1 visa, which is the fiancé visa before. She had been working with an immigration attorney to find out why. Even though the attorney had indicated there may still be some hope he’d get that visa, they decided to get married in Nigeria. That way they could try to get a spousal visa, which may be quicker. But she knew even with a spousal visa getting Michael to America might be a long, drawn-out process! She had said it was definitely bittersweet about her family missing the wedding.
But at the time, her mother, Glenda Standridge, could not travel and the whole family couldn’t go anyway. Someone had to take care of Glenda, which meant her daughter Skyla Deem couldn’t go. Skyla hadn’t wanted to anyway. And there are six grandchildren, which would have been hard to handle trying to get visas and through airports. She does have another daughter, Scottie, who is the mother of some of her grandchildren but she is currently incarcerated. Angela and Skyla don’t talk about Scottie on the show, but she does exist. Angela was concerned that even the spousal visa could be denied! Her mother passed away two weeks after the wedding, and then the pandemic struck and so Angela has been stuck in Hazlehurst and Michael in Nigeria ever since.
Michael And Angela Talk About The Pandemic And Its Effect On Them
In the tell-all, Michael and Angela talk about the pandemic and its effect on them individually and as a couple. Borders were closed and K-1 visas have not been processed since the Covid-19 pandemic began last March. Angela says that she and Michael definitely have some hurdles in their future. Michael’s spousal visa has still not been approved, and the pandemic may have a lot to do with that as well. However, she does note that their fights are not as bad and they make up quicker. Perhaps absence is making their hearts grow fonder!
Angela says compared to before they married, sometimes she wouldn’t talk to him for three or four days, now it’s down to thirty or forty minutes! There are still travel restrictions that keep Angela from going to Nigeria as well, let alone Michael coming to her. Angela says that even after the pandemic ends and restrictions lift, it might be a long time. It could take a year or possibly more for a spousal visa to come through for him. She adds if they can get through this and are still together, then all the naysayers can shut up! However, Michael’s family is still on him about having a baby! Angela and Aunt Lydia get into it via Zoom in parts two and three of the tell-all!
