‘My Big Fat Fabulous Life’: Was Chase Severino Paid to Be On the Show?

For years, the fans of TLC’s My Big Fat Fabulous Life thought that Whitney Way Thore was paying people to be on the show. They thought that every man she was with, including fiance, Chase Severino, were paid actors and when they broke up, fans went crazy with the “I told you so” rumors.

The Pandemic Break Up

No one was really expecting the break up between Whitney and Chase, but during the quarantine, Whitney posted on Instagram that she and Chase had broken up. He didn’t come to see her during that time and instead spent time with a woman that he knew pretty well from the past. The two of them hooked up during the quarantine, one thing led to another, and she ended up pregnant. They had their first child together in August. Meanwhile, Whitney was devastated.

Fans of My Big Fat Fabulous Life showed concern, but others just knew that this would happen since they think Chase has been paid to be on the show. These haters think that it was going to happen sooner or later and the pandemic was the perfect time. Whitney has told her fans that it is upsetting to think that they would say this because she deserves a good man just like anyone else.

Twitter Blew Up When Whitney Made The Announcement

Twitter blew up when Whitney made the announcement and one follower wrote, “There’s something disingenuous about Whitney. Not to mention she’s a bad friend to Heather. The Chase storyline seems forced…so many of the male storylines with her seem very fake.” What do you think?

whitney professes to be a modern woman, however, she couldn’t stand up to chase. She needed to explain that she and buddy are dear friends, and that it is a package deal. Buddy has been there, chase needed to understand their special relationship. she was out of line asking buddy to change. she needed to tell chase to accept her relationship with buddy.

I disagree. A “package deal” like that would definitely have to be re-wrapped. You can have a very special relationship with the opposite sex or same gender, but not THAT close where you nuzzle & cuddle on each other’s lap — especially in front of your betrothed. A thoughtful close friend, male or female, would call said friend by their name and not by an infantile nickname such as “Boo Bear.” A fiancee would not sit next to their “special” friend and knowingly tickle his/her lower thigh or knee. Habits that might make your fiancee uncomfortable are meant to be broken. There is no “standing up” to a fiancee. Faithfulness is not an issue. There is simple respect & common sense to be displayed by all parties.

Judge Judy will court order the ring to be returned once the engagement is broken because it’s an implied conditional gift upon marriage. No marriage, no keepy ringy. He came home at 3:00am & he wasn’t late because he had to flip chairs on the tables & mop floors. She’s no dummy; there were probably more red flags. And she even joked a little about it on the drive home whereas most brides-to-be in the free world would be devastated & hard-pressed to find the humor that soon. Of course, Chase one-upped her afterwards with his crushing news resulting from a supposed one-night stand. He is not laughing last though because the coronavirus doesn’t especially care about super-spreader bars with huge dance floors. Even tho he acquired 77K IG followers through HER show, he miscalculated & lost a huge asset, pun intended. In the end, a Wilmington beach romance could not compete with all that a cosmopolitan city like Charlotte has to offer — Paris proposal or not.

Chase always looked uncomfortable, and was not romantic at all with Whitney.I truly believe he and “Ryan planned the engagement plot to get their. fifteen minutes of fame. Whitney loses her engagement ring in the last episode and the reaction of both was rather strange. She never asked if it was insured or didn’t spend time looking for it. The entire story line seem contrived.
