The world has been rocked by COVID-19 this year and so far, it looks as if it is sticking around longer than we want it to. We just found out that 1000-Lb. Sisters cast member, Tammy Slaton, has been diagnosed with COVID-19.
Shocking News for the 1000-Lb. Sisters
Tammy and her sister, Amy appeared on one season of the TLC hit, 1000lb Sisters. In January, Tammy got really sick and felt like she had the flu. Her health got pretty bad and her fans thought that she had healed up, but it turns out that she now has COVID-19.
Slaton’s health is so bad that she can barely get around on her own and her weight is part of the reason for this. This was why she wanted to be on the show to help lose weight. She was able to lose a little bit of weight, but now that she has COVID-19, things have been tougher for her. She has been sick for about three weeks and has been quarantining at home because she just hasn’t felt up to going anywhere.
Tammy was admitted into the hospital and the doctors diagnosed her with pneumonia then COVID-19. She spent a few days in the hospital to make sure that she healed nicely and she has been resting and taking it easy.

Were Disappointed When The Show Was Not Renewed?
Fans of the Slaton sisters were pretty let down when 1000lb Sisters didn’t get picked up for another season. The women still appear on social media and on YouTube. They have gained quite the following and their fans really have grown to love them and send them positive energy to help them to lose the weight they need to get gastric bypass surgery.
We are glad that Tammy is in the healing phase of COVID-19 and we are happy that she had some amazing doctors to take care of her and keep her with us. Be sure to find Tammy and Amy on social media to keep up with how they are doing and how their weight loss journey is going.
