The Bachelor: After recent Bachelor exit Chris Harrison celebrates anniversary, announced via Instagram
After a long stretch as host of The Bachelor, The Bachelorette, and Bachelor in Paradise, Chris Harrison, 50, left the program last month and he’s been silent ever since.
Saturday, August 7, Harrison broke his silence on Instagram when he honored his 33-year-old love interest, Lauren Zima who is currently hosting Entertainment Tonight.
The Bachelor: Exit After Months of Controversy
As fans of the long-running show may be aware, the ex-host was embroiled in controversy for many months before stepping down.
He appeared to come to the defense of Rachael Kirkconnell, 24 after she was called out for some racially insensitive posts on social media. Of course, she ultimately apologized for the posts but, according to People, Harrison, speaking to former Bachelorette Rachel Lindsay on Extra, said that people should have “a little grace, a little understanding, a little compassion.”
Finally, after facing a great deal of online guff, and releasing two public apologies of his own, Harrison announced that he would be stepping down as the show’s host.
He has since been silent, online and off, until now.
The Bachelor: Love on Instagram
In his first social media post since the exit from the show, Harrison took to Instagram, not to discuss the show or the controversy, but to honor his beautiful young girlfriend, Lauren Zima.
“Another incredible trip around the sun with this beautiful woman. @laurenzima I love you for your wisdom, strength, vulnerability, theatrics, compassion, advice, laughter, grace…your love. The only woman that can remain chic as s–t while doing a Voldemort impersonation, I love you LZ Happy Anniversary!” he added that he couldn’t wait to see what the next “trip around the sun” brings.
The Bachelor: The Marriage That Would Not Be
Fans and followers will recall that, in April, Harrison and Zima refuted claims and speculation about the two getting married.
After posting an image of the two kissing in elegant attire and captioning it “I’d stop the world and melt with you” @laurenzima there’s no one I’d rather celebrate love with and I’ll be your plus one anytime” fans immediately began congratulating the two as if they were tying the knot. They weren’t.
They let fans down easy though, with a little humor with Zima sharing, “Love you so much and appreciate all the ‘congrats’! This bridesmaids dress is really living above its potential,” and Harrison chiming in with, “Wow you attend one wedding together…do one chicken dance and your hitched!”
The Bachelor: What’s Next?
It’s clear that the two are happy together. From the posts, it is also clear that fans of the show are missing Chris Harrison.
It will be anyone’s guess what is next for the former Bachelor host but – we’ll be watching and waiting. Keep checking Reality Tea Vee for more The Bachelor news and updates.
