It’s Official – 90 Day Fiancé Stars Russ & Paola Mayfield Are ‘Taking A Break’ From Their Marriage

Rumors had started doing the rounds that 90 Day Fiancé stars Russ and Paola Mayfield’s marriage was in deep trouble. Now, after eight years together, the TLC reality stars, both 34, have confirmed they are taking a break from their marriage.

Russ and Paola Mayfield first appeared on season 1 of 90 Day Fiancé in 2014. The couple had originally met when the American native was working in Paola’s home country of Colombia. When Russ returned to the US, he applied for a K-1 visa for Paola and they wed in October 2013.

Along the way, Paola suffered a miscarriage. However, in July 2018, the couple announced that they were expecting a child. They welcomed their son Axel in January 2019. Paola had said in May this year that even though Russ would like another child, she had no plans to do so.

Paola sparked split rumors

The rumors started after both Russ and Paola posted cryptic tweets on August 11. Paola tweeted, “Part of the reason why relationships end is that we get caught up in other things, forget to appreciate one another, and sadly, marriage isn’t a priority anymore.”

Shortly after this, she sent another tweet, which she also shared on Instagram. She wrote, “People asked me why I don’t take pictures with my husband, and my answer is… I just don’t like to pretend #youareguessingright.”

Russ and Paola’s split is official

Dominique Enchinton, Paola’s manager and the owner of Dominion Talent spoke to In Touch about the couple’s problems. She said that the pandemic has hit everyone very hard, especially couples who have had to stay indoors with each other 24/7. She added that Russ had lost his job during the pandemic, which meant that for the past year, Paola was the sole breadwinner in the family.

With everything that is going on, it has taken a toll on both Russ and Paola, with both of them being in each other’s faces. For this reason, the couple will be taking a break from their marriage for a bit. Enchinton did note that the Mayfields are not getting a divorce just yet. They are planning on going to therapy to work through their issues.

As for the TLC reality show, season 3 of 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way debuts on TLC on Sunday, August 29, at 8 pm ET. Every episode will then be available to stream on Fridays on discovery+.
