90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way Stars Armando And Kenneth ‘More In Love’ After Quarantine
It has been around five months since 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way stars Kenneth Niedermeier and Armando Rubio were wed. Despite a quarantine interfering with their lives, the pair couldn’t be more in love. In the run-up for Sunday’s premiere of season 3 of the TLC reality show, Armando and Kenny starred on PeopleTV’s Reality Check, sharing about their newlywed life.
90 Day Fiancé stars Armando and Kenneth
90 Day Fiancé fans first met Armando, 31, and Kenneth, 57, on the previous season of The Other Way. They were the first male gay couple to star on the TLC franchise and were finally married in May at the Mansarda Winery in Ensenada, Baja California, Mexico.
While it is never easy moving to a foreign land, the COVID-19 pandemic must have made things even harder for American Kenneth. However, the pair has revealed that going through the quarantine together in Mexico actually made their love stronger. In fact, Kenneth shared that their newlywed life is “pretty darn good,” while Armando said, “Things are great.”
Long-distance relationship made good
The couple had a long-distance relationship for many years and wanted to be together. Armando said that when Kenny finally came to Mexico, it allowed them to get to know each other better than just talking on the phone for so many years. In fact, their long-distance relationship lasted for three or four years. Armando said that the quarantine kind of made their friendship and their relationship much stronger. The Mexico native said they got to know each other even better and came out even more in love.
Kenneth said, “I always say this, I say if we can make it through quarantine, the pandemic and plan a wedding, we were meant to be.”
Conflicts for Armando and Kenneth
As fans of 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way know the couple had many conflicts when Kenneth first moved to Mexico. This included the fact that Armando’s religious family struggled to accept his sexuality. However, Armando says they are still learning and are trying to embrace them and accept them as they are. He said that through their daily living, he has tried to slowly show them how they are just in love, but he did admit that it is still a work in progress. However, he does have faith for the future.
Kenneth admitted that it was more difficult for him to be patient with Armando’s family accepting them as a couple. He said he wants to move things along and doesn’t like to “sit idle on things.” Kenny said a lot of the time he wonders, “Why can’t they understand this? Or why can’t they get this? Or why can’t they see it the way we see it?”
Teasing of upcoming episodes of the 90 Day Fiancé spinoff, Kenny said it is a bit of a struggle, but a lot of it does play out in season 3. While things aren’t straightforward, they are really trying to work together on it.’
90 Day Fiancé stars plan their honeymoon
While they have been married since May, Kenneth and Armando have yet to enjoy a honeymoon. In fact, they are waiting for the pandemic to end before planning their “big” honeymoon in Switzerland. After a romantic wedding in Mexico, a honeymoon in the mountains sounds like a dream.
Fans will remember that Kenneth and Armando each came into the relationship with children. However, when asked if they had any plans for children together, Kenneth did admit that they are discussing the topic. Kenneth’s children are grown, but Armando’s daughter Hannah is still young, so a sibling would be good for her.
Kenneth said this is one of the topics they are working through in the upcoming season. However, a lot of it has to do with his and Armando’s families, so they have a lot to consider. Readers can see the full interview on People’s website here.
