Counting On fans saw Amy King on the TLC show very occasionally, but previously, she appeared on 19 Kids and Counting quite often. Quite early on in life, TLC fans found out that Deanna Duggar’s daughter was thought of as a “rebel.” Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar raised their kids differently from his sister. Nowadays, Rachel seems angry with them. And, with her own critics. But have things changed recently? Read on to find out.
TLC fans who follow Jill Dillard and Amy on social media know that the cousins seem to be good friends. Often, folks would see them shopping in thrift stores, or just hanging out. Like Amy, Jill had some issues with her mom and dad. However, when she moved to Siloam Springs on the border of Arkansas and Oklahoma, she saw less of her parents and of Amy. These days, it seems like the arrival of baby Freddy bridged a gap with Michelle, and more often, Jill is seen at family functions. But did the same thing happen with Amy? And, have critics eased up on her?
Counting On fans saw that when Josh Duggar was arrested for C-SAM-related crimes, Amy started to let her feelings out. As time went by, she called out for Derrick Dillard to take a stand. And since Josh’s conviction, she and her mom Deanna became vocal about Jim Bob and Michelle. If you don’t know, they claimed that when Josh molested his sisters, Jim never told them what really happened or why he sent his son away to a special camp. Josh is in jail now, so did things improve between Amy and her uncle? Did critics let up? Let’s find out.
While Jill seems to make an effort with her parents, did Amy do the same thing? Recently. she clarified the situation on TikTok. Her caption read, “Keep on hating and I’ll keep on shining! This year is my year to be Bold! Bold in my actions, bold in my faith! Bold to stand up for what is right! Bold in everything I do!” Now, that could refer to her status with either Jim Bib Duggar, or to her haters. . Actually, a lot of them don’t like that she talks about Christianity. Meanwhile, die-hard Duggar fans don’t like that she speaks her mind about Josh and his parents.
Was Amy talking about the patriarch of Counting On or about her critics? Well, in the text overlay, she had written, “Riding the Duggar coattails,” “famewhore,” and more. Of course, “rebel” was there as well, not to mention things like body shaming. Well, it seems that all of those words could have emerged from the Duggar family. But, it sounds like she’s quoting her critics. Are those accusations getting her down?
Counting On fans who saw the TikTopk clip also heard Amy King remind them that “if you are happy, shining bright, doing your best, you’re going to trigger someone.” Then she added, “and they’ll have a lot to say.”
At least one fan thought that she had been colliding with her uncle Jim Bob Duggar again. They asked, “Do you talk to your uncle and aunt now?”
Well, it seems that nothing changed there. In her reply, Amy said, “If I talked to them I wouldn’t hold back. but for now… I do not speak to them.”
So, it looked like 2023 didn’t bring any changes to the estrangement between Amy and her extended family. And clearly, her critics are not going to stop her from speaking her mind, despite their trolling.
